Hi I’m Lisa, a qualified naturopathic nutritionist.
My journey into holistic health began after my sister became ill with a brain tumor at a young age. The current health system did what it could, but I felt frustrated by the lack of answers regarding her disease, and we were told it was just bad luck. It left a lot of unanswered questions, and I began to look deeper to the reasons why, and if what we eat and the way we live can impact our health.
After having my first child I started to notice the way that food could impact his health both positively and negatively. As he came down with every childhood illness going in nursery I started looking for alternative ways to improve his immunity.
After having two more boys who struggled with some serious health concerns, I began to see how environmental factors can affect health. My two eldest children received diagnoses of ADHD and autism, and whilst we are in fact a neurodiverse family, it didn't seem like the full picture. After a lot of research, I became aware of how the mould in our house had been making us ill. After relocating I decided to study nutrition. I wanted to fully understand the body systems and separate fact from fiction in order to make informed dietary and lifestyle changes for myself and my family. I now understand health is not achieved by finding one answer or pill to solve all of our problems. We have to consider many factors including our genetics, lifestyle, environment and past traumas.
I began my training at the renowned College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2018 completing my studies in 2022 (fitting in one more baby boy along the way!).
As a busy mum I understand the very real struggles of family life, time constraints and picky eaters (including myself) but it is possible to get nutritious foods into daily life that the whole family can enjoy.
I want to help people understand the impact that ultra-processed foods and environmental toxins are having on our health and our children's health.
I believe that by making dietary and lifestyle changes, it is possible to improve health and achieve a better quality of life.
My lived experience has given me a deeper insight and understanding and I am passionate about educating and empowering others to find their way to optimal health and wellness.
Working with me means gaining access to a personalised plan, tailored to your specific needs and lifestyle.
